Course related links :: Year Two
Currently I am studying for a at I am half way through my second year here, below are links to a few sites that I think may be of use to people on either the Computer Science or Computer Information Systems courses. If you think of a site that could be useful, just mail me and I'll put it up.
This list of links will grow as I find more useful things.
Year Two :: Semester Two
General
- - where me and many other of my coursemates spend most of our time :)
- Wikpiedia - The source of all knowledge.
- - The source of all computing knowledge. - The Free Online Dictionary of Computing is an on-line, searchable encyclopedic dictionary of computing subjects. It was founded in 1985 by Denis Howe and is hosted by Imperial College, London.
Foundations of computer graphics
- - This is the Lecturer's home page for this unit. The course notes, which are available in either pdf or postscript, are quite comprehensive and easy to read. Also included on the site is Information on obtaining MATLAB, where to get libraries and some sample programs.
Software project
- - This is the lecturer's [Julian Padget] site dedicated to this unit. It includes the problem description for the unit, other administrative information, references to books articles and useful for help.

- - Simon has been vigilantly typing up notes from all of our lectures, this collection of notes can be found here.
- - Andy has set up a very spinky revision forum, where all the past paper questions are together with suggested answers from coursemates; as well as general discussion about the topic. (All subjects orderd by course code)
Programming IIV: Functional Programming
- - Russell Bradford's site includes some exercises in Lisp, lecture notes, the coursework assignment and some usefull links.
- - Simon has posted (and nicely ordered) all the lecture notes he took for lisp. This is also really helpfull for revision because of the wasy it has been indexed.
User Interface Design
- Useful Swing Information - The Java.sun website has some good documentation on swing, its a little hard to get started with, but there are also some good tutorials.
- J2SE 1.3 specificaton - A list of all 'bits' of the J2SE 1.3 specificaton can be found on this site. A very handy reference guide!

- - Simon's collection of maths notes can be found here.
- Vector Math for 3D Computer Graphics - A bit late for the exam now perhaps, but could also be usefull for our graphics course next year. Meri found this site, a comprehensive interactive tutorial on vector algebra and matrix algebra, from the viewpoint of computer graphics (with many examples).
Databases course
- - Our database lecturer ha put up the slides, an itroduction to the course and coursework information. A Bath University username and password are required to view this site.
