Cheesy Twigs
Ingredients
- 125g / 4oz plain flour
- 1 pinch salt
- 50g / 2oz butter or marg
- 75g / 3oz cheddar cheese (grated)
- 1 vege oxo cube roughly crumbled
- 1 egg yolk
- A bit of milk to brush them with

Oven
Preheated to 200*C / 400*F / gas mark 6
Method
- Sift the flour and salt into a bowl
- Rub in the fat until the mixture resembles bread crumbs
- Stir in the cheese and oxo cube
- Add the egg yolk and enough water to make a firm dough
- Turn onto a floured surface and kneed lightly roll out thinly into a large square cut into strips 1cm by 3cm, Twist and then coat with milk
- place on oiled baking sheets and bake in a preheated moderately hot oven 200*C (400*C / gas mark 6) for 8-10 mins
